Front Royal Christian School

About

Our Mission

Blue Ridge Christian Academy exists to form students through a Christ-centered education grounded in Biblical truth and the order of God’s created world, equipping them to think clearly, live faithfully, and lead with purpose.

Our Vision

Our vision is to form self-governing, independent learners, skilled in critical thinking and communication, who use their God-given gifts in service to God and neighbor.

Our Goal

Our goal at Blue Ridge Christian Academy is for our students to become the best version of themselves.

We feel both are important in creating lifelong learners destined to make a difference in their personal lives and the world around them.

Through our mission and vision, we work in partnership with you to meet the individual needs of your child, while at the same time helping them to build their strengths, support their weaknesses, and develop into the person God has called them to become.

At Blue Ridge Christian Academy, we leverage a variety of cognitive tools and techniques designed to foster a child’s innate learning potential.

The process begins with an assessment of the child’s strengths and vulnerabilities.

Equipped with this knowledge, our school develops a customized plan that will serve as the student’s personal roadmap to academic success.

Our experience shows that with the right support nearly all students can become critical thinkers and competent learners.

For students who need more intensive support, students can enroll in for one-on-one support from the Blue Ridge Cognitive Center.

Our Philosophy

Since its inception, Blue Ridge Christian Academy has been committed to the spiritual, moral, and intellectual development of its students.

Blue Ridge recognizes that education is lacking in the area of educating the whole child. Over the past 20 years, there has been a significant increase in children who cannot assimilate, lack empathy, and have no resilience or adaptation skills upon graduation from high school. In addition, technology advancements have increased social isolation, while today’s workforce still demands skills in collaboration for creative problem-solving. Teachers are directed to teach “to the test,” resulting in students cannot apply their knowledge beyond that test.

The philosophy of Blue Ridge Christian Academy is mediating a sense of competence, confidence, and belonging in each child. This fully inclusive approach to learning at Blue Ridge intentionally addresses the individual learning needs of every child, from the vulnerable to gifted learner.

The education of Blue Ridge Christian Academy students starts with training its teachers in a therapeutic approach to the classroom. This approach is formed on the basis that the brain is modifiable Blue Ridge believes in teaching all to teach all. Blue Ridge teachers receive professional development in both cognitive modifiability and social-emotional learning that goes beyond the curriculum to be a full, intentional approach to the education of each individual child enrolled at Blue Ridge Christian Academy.

This well-balanced, unique program begins at the Kindergarten level and continues through the twelfth grade and includes academics, internships, vocational training, service learning, performing and fine arts, and athletics. Through the comprehensive approach, students identify their gifts and purposes. The growth mindset at Blue Ridge provides students with help in areas of vulnerabilities and encouragement to go beyond in areas of strengths, to reach skylights.

What are skylights? Blue Ridge teachers and staff mediate students to make connections where others cannot, allowing knowledge to go beyond the required and expected response towards unique, creative and innovative ideas.
